When by day's end
garlic floods my nose,
memories swarm my dreams.
Busy in the kitchen,
be it cakes or fish,
we work under
the adult eye, waiting
for time alone.
Meanwhile we gaze at
each other and exchange
innocent embraces.
Once the house slept,
we stayed in the kitchen,
held close,
making up
for lost time.
